The smart access company exhibits its residential and enterprise lines during the digital version of the event.

igloocompany, the smart access solution provider with sub-brands – igloohome (B2C) and iglooworks (B2B), is pleased to announce its fifth showcase at CES 2021. After previous successful years at the renowned consumer electronics show, the company will exhibit its latest smart access solution for car-sharing and its enterprise-focused line, iglooworks, in this digital edition of CES, happening from Jan. 11-14

Technology and the growing purchasing power affect most industries, and in this age of the sharing economy, transportation is no different from the rest. The need for flexibility, comfort and convenience means that people do not need or want their own car. Thus, the emergence of the car-sharing industry.

The market began to rapidly expand around 2011, and according to a study by Frost & Sullivan, users will grow from 1 million to 36 million by 2025. The global car sharing market is also forecasted to value at USD 11 billion in 2024. Currently, leading markets include US and Western Europe, while Asia is predicted to experience the fastest growth in this sector.

We started seeing a trend with our leads, more car-sharing services were approaching us for solutions to assist key handovers. Lock boxes were traditionally used for properties, but with innovation, we made a move to cater to these businesses as well.” commented Matthew Ng, Chief Product Officer of igloocompany.

Built to work in tandem with igloohome’s Smart Keybox 3, the car sharing kit offers a seamless car rental and sharing experience. The kit comprises a Keybox mount to secure the lock box to the vehicle and a key fob box within the lock box to transform any car into one that’s ready for sharing.

The Smart Keybox 3 also boasts a myriad of features for hassle-free key handovers. Designed to store more than just the essentials, the lock box features double the storage space as compared to other lock boxes in the market. From access cards to car key fobs, the smart lock box acts as a 24/7 reception for physical key handovers.

Apart from its spacious interior, the Smart Keybox 3 lets users unlock via time-sensitive PIN codes or Bluetooth keys. It works in conjunction with the igloohome mobile app, allowing users to grant access anytime, anywhere. The unique algoPIN™ technology offers remote capabilities while allowing the device to work offline. Car owners and rental businesses can generate customised access codes with a validity period, ensuring the vehicle is secured after each use.

Activity logs are provided so that the dates and times of which the lock box was accessed can be tracked for audit purposes. Other key features include dual security lockout, auto relock, low battery warning and a USB-C emergency jumpstart.

igloocompany will also showcase iglooworks, its enterprise-focused line offering a suite of smart access solutions for remote monitoring and management of access for infrastructure providers, facilities managers, smart city developers and more.

iglooworks aims to streamline the access management process for industries worldwide. To do so, the company has NB-IoT-ready versions of existing products like the Smart Padlock and Smart Deadbolt; as well as its new Smart Swing Handle Lock for cabinets in data centers and the like.

The protocol allows for added online features for these products which includes multi-factor authentication for increased security and verification purposes, as well as real-time access information for large-scale access management. iglooworks’ solutions are managed via a dashboard, which offers an overview of all access points. This allows managers to offer access for different hierarchy of users from various departments and conduct audit trails for transparency and accountability.
